A new trial was ordered for a man serving up to 39 years in prison on drug and weapons charges because the trial judge was found to have improperly handled a note from jurors.

Chenango County Court Judge W. Howard Sullivan received the fifth note from jurors in the trial of Michael Victor Jr. saying, “We have reach[ed] agreement on 9 of the 10 charges #8G 4NG.”
