Former Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son, Adam, were handed years-long prison terms Thursday for extortion and bribery schemes driven by the father’s abuse of power and the son’s lust for money.
Southern District Judge Kimba Wood gave the younger Skelos—who was the beneficiary of more than $330,000 in no-show jobs and phantom consulting positions secured through threats and his father’s leverage in Albany—six years and six months in prison.
