A federal judge has affirmed the suspension of New York bankruptcy trustee John Pereira, who was found to have mistreated debtors by withholding interpretation services and using inappropriate and demeaning language toward them.

Southern District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald said Wednesday that “there is more than sufficient evidence to support” the conclusion that Pereira was “unprofessional, discourteous, overly aggressive and improper” in his treatment of debtors and that he failed to display proper temperament.
