The board of the state Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) has authorized the hiring of two additional lawyers.
The executive director of the commission, Seth Agata, said at a meeting of the board Tuesday that “business is brisk” at JCOPE and there is a need for two attorneys with investigative experience. A background in ethics would also be useful, Agata said. They would earn between $90,000 and the low six figures.
