A Brooklyn appeals panel has affirmed a lower court’s holding that an arbitrator may not “modify” a ruling two years after making it based on “new information in the matter.”

The Appellate Division, Second Department, said Wednesday that “after an arbitrator renders an award, he or she is generally without power to render a new award or to modify the original award.”
