From left Richard Hofstetter, H. Sujin Kim, and Barbara Shiers, partners at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, tout Red Nose Day Thursday before a NBC telethon raised $30 million for the charity. The effort, which is run by Comic Relief, supports international children’s charities such as Save the Children and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Viewers were encouraged to participate by buying red clown noses at Walgreens and hosting their own “fun-raisers.”

The lawyers from Frankfurt Kurnit devoted more than 1,000 hours representing Comic Relief and Red Nose Issues at what a spokesman called a “significantly discounted pro bono rate.” The firm has provided advice on a wide variety of legal issues such as forming the charity, working on NBC’s partnership deal with Comic Relief, negotiating on privacy, advertising, charitable solicitation advising on talent and performer agreements for Red Nose Day and partnerships with Walgreen’s and other entities.
