New York lawyers in fields as diverse as real estate and retirement law are immersing themselves in a national pro bono campaign to help federal drug offenders win early release from prison.
Marjorie Peerce, a partner at Ballard Spahr whose practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, regulatory matters, and complex civil litigation, said she and her colleagues are learning the ins and outs of federal drug sentencing guidelines on behalf of people they do not know in service of the campaign, called Clemency Project 2014.
