New York court administrators are proposing that the clerks of the approximately 1,300 town and village courts throughout the state be required to receive court-approved continuing education and training.
The proposed amendment to 22 NYCRR §17.2 provides that the clerks receive the additional training each year. The same rule has mandated annual continuing education and training for town and village court justices since 1984.
