Richard Davis, who was a partner at Weil Gotshal & Manges for 30 years before starting his own practice in 2012, received the New York State Bar Association’s Root/Stimson Award from president Clare Gutekunst at the state bar’s House of Delegates meeting in Cooperstown on Saturday.
The award is given to an attorney for exemplary community service. Davis has served on numerous boards and has been chairman of the Legal Aid Society since 2010.
