Appeals filed at the federal court covering New York have dropped for the fourth year in a row, with immigration filings leading the decrease, according to recently released court management reports from the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
Filings in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit fell by nearly 8 percent, from 4,997 to 4406 for the year ending March 31, 2016. Filings in 2012 were 5,710.
