The president of the New York State Bar Association is urging Gov. Andrew Cuomo to prepare the state for a possible constitutional convention.

Voters will decide in 2017 whether to hold a convention to consider changes to the state’s main political document. Bar Association President Claire Gutekunst wrote to the Democratic governor last week urging him to issue an executive order appointing a commission to begin preparing information for the voters to help them make a decision.
