An association representing the state’s prosecutors is urging Gov. Andrew Cuomo to veto legislation that would modify the Penal Law definitions of switchblades and gravity knives.
Citing what he called a rise in slashings and other knife crimes, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe, president of the state District Attorneys Association, in a statement, called the measure “a threat to public safety.”
