New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman will defy a congressional subpoena seeking information about his office’s investigation of whether Exxon Mobil Corp. knowingly misled investors and consumers about climate change.
In a letter to U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith released Tuesday, Schneiderman’s counsel Leslie Dubeck said a subpoena from Smith’s Committee on Science, Space and Technology violates the state’s 10th Amendment right to sovereign immunity.
