ALBANY – Gov. Andrew Cuomo asked the company behind Pokémon Go to block New York’s convicted sex offenders from participating in the faddish mobile game, and directed that offenders be excluded from all “internet-enabled” gaming activities as a term of their parole or probation.

In a letter to Niantic CEO John Hanke, Cuomo said the company should accept regularly updated information from the state on offenders’ email accounts, screen names and other internet identifiers and block those individuals from participating in Pokémon Go.
