Federal prosecutors’ decision to formally charge a Buffalo police officer with using excessive force while they presented evidence to a grand jury about the same conduct did not taint the indictment process, a judge has determined.
Officer Corey Krug argued that the negative publicity surrounding the Aug. 18, 2015, announcement by the Western District U.S. Attorney’s Office of its criminal complaint against him was prejudicial and all but guaranteed his subsequent indictment.
