A former head trader of residential mortgage-backed securities at Goldman Sachs will pay $400,000 to settle civil charges that he misled customers to drive up prices on the securitized loans.
Edwin Chin arranged trades of mortgage-backed securities between Goldman customers, buying from one and selling to another, according to an enforcement action released Tuesday by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
