The state may proceed with preparation of a 13.5-mile snowmobiling trail that opponents say will harm the character of the Adirondack Forest Preserve, a judge has ruled.

Acting Albany Supreme Court Justice Gerald Connolly decided in Matter of Protect the Adirondacks v. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, 2137-13, that critics of the trail connecting the communities of Newcomb and Minerva failed to show how the project will have a “significant and detrimental impact” on the Adirondack Park.
