The father of the plaintiff in the next General Motors trial will get to tell the jury he tried for several minutes to remove his daughter’s car key from a jammed ignition switch at the scene of the accident.

Southern District Judge Jesse Furman said Danny Cockram is “plainly competent” to testify about the position of the ignition switch following the car crash that left Stephanie Cockram with serious injuries in 2011.
