Martin, 54, spent the past 15 years as a Southern District prosecutor. She was jointly responsible for the civil frauds docket, with an emphasis on health care fraud matters. She handled and supervised investigations and litigations related to the False Claims Act; anti-kickback statute; Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and other laws and regulations on accounting, misbranding and off-label marketing.

“I’ve handled and supervised really scores, if not hundreds, of civil frauds cases of all types. I’ve had a tremendous run, and it just kind of felt like it was time,” she said.
