The New York State Bar Association and the state Women’s Bar Association are collaborating to provide better legal services to domestic violence victims.

The groups said they will focus on training pro bono and legal services attorneys, law schools, court administrators and local bar associations about domestic violence-related issues and making their services available to the communities where they are needed the most. Those participating also will make recommendations about legislation that could strengthen protections against domestic violence, organizers said.
