A handful of candidates received the Democratic Party nomination for judgeships on Tuesday, including Manhattan Civil Court Judge Sabrina Kraus in her contest against colleague Susan Avery.

Kraus defeated Avery 3,039 votes to 2,418 votes, or 55 percent to 44 percent, for a Civil Court seat in Manhattan’s 6th Municipal Court District, according to unofficial New York City Board of Elections returns.
