Harlene Katzman came to her post as pro bono counsel and director at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett with a long history in social justice issues.

Before arriving at the firm in 2008, she spent eight years as dean of Columbia Law School’s Center for Public Interest Law, where she directed the school’s pro bono program. She also had worked as a civil rights lawyer litigating employment and housing discrimination cases.
