The application deadline for an upcoming state Court of Appeals’ vacancy—the last scheduled opening on the court for the next five years—is Sept. 26.

The deadline set by the state Commission on Judicial Nomination was earlier extended from Sept. 16 (NYLJ, Aug. 24). While the commission does not discuss the number of applications it receives for pending openings, the extension of the solicitation process is usually seen as reflecting receipt of fewer-than-expected applications.
