The estate of a wrongfully convicted man whose case was called “rotten from day one” has settled its claims against New York City for $8.25 million.
The city’s settlement in the case of the late William Lopez was reached eight months after his estate settled claims with New York state for $4.2 million (NYLJ, Jan. 22).
