A judge ruled that the termination of a man who was chiefly used as a chauffeur by a law firm’s managing partner did not conflict with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Brooklyn Civil Court Judge Katherine Levine determined that Vincent Jackson failed to show that he worked for Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Flowers, Greenberg & Eisman for the threshold of 1,250 hours over a 12-month period, which could have made Jackson’s dismissal unlawful under the FMLA.
