A former attorney in New York City government was properly denied unemployment insurance benefits after his dismissal in 2013 for working on his own political campaign and doing other personal business on city time, an appellate court in Albany ruled.

In Matter of Oberman v. New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services, 521553, the Appellate Division, Third Department, said city officials showed Igor Oberman was terminated by the city Taxi and Limousine Commission for misconduct, making him ineligible for jobless benefits.
