The judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit had some special guests Wednesday in U.S. Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor.

Helping to kick off a year-long celebration of the Second Circuit’s 125th anniversary at a special session of the court, the justices shared their thoughts on the law and the traditions of the court from the bench on the 17th floor of the Thurgood Marshall U.S. Courthouse. They sat alongside Chief Judge Robert Katzmann and the entire court.
