Court administrators are introducing a new program they say will empower victims of domestic violence to use e-filing and Skype videoconferencing to communicate with courts when seeking emergency temporary orders of protection.

Chief Judge Janet DiFiore said Friday that such accommodations should be established because some domestic violence victims cannot get to court because of child care responsibilities or being in remote areas without transportation, and others because they consider it too dangerous to see their assailants in person.
