Republican John Faso, a former leader in the state Legislature, revived his political career on Election Day with a victory over Zephyr Teachout in a Hudson Valley congressional district.
Faso, who is a lawyer, had 153,311 votes or 52 percent of the vote in the 19th Congressional District, compared to 126,671, or 43 percent, for Teachout, according to unofficial results from the state Board of Elections.
