An inmate who shot and killed her husband in 1993 after he allegedly abused her will get a new parole hearing after a state appeals court ruled that a parole board acted with “irrationality bordering on impropriety.”

Niki Rossakis of Queens, whose murder conviction and requests for release became a cause celebre for battered women advocates, will get a new hearing within 60 days, the Appellate Division, First Department, said Thursday in Matter of Rossakis, 101546/14.
