As co-head of Skadden’s corporate finance practice, Stacy Kanter is a “go-to” attorney for companies and investment banks. In less than two years, her personal practice has facilitated more than $53 billion in capital markets offerings. Her clients not only get transactional guidance from her, but also advise on disclosure, securities law compliance and other business matters. Kanter also has made diversity at Skadden a priority. As co-chair of its global diversity committee since 2010, she has worked to develop policies to improve recruitment, retention and promotion of women and attorneys of color in all of the firm’s offices and practice groups. Under her leadership, Skadden established its Women’s Initiative, an associate-led affinity group, as well as a 1L Scholar Program helping diverse students during the summer after their first year of law school. Outside the firm, Kanter is on the advisory board of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.
