A man convicted of illegal gun possession should have been allowed to cross-examine a New York City police sergeant about a lawsuit accusing the sergeant of attempting to frame an arrestee on gun charges, a state appeals court ruled.

According to court papers, Jahmal Enoe was a rear passenger in a livery cab that was pulled over by police for failing to signal a left turn.
