A. Gail Prudenti is set to become the interim dean at Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law when Eric Lane steps down on Jan. 1 after four years at the helm. Lane will remain on the law faculty.

Prudenti was New York’s chief administrative judge from 2011 to 2015 before joining the Hofstra Law faculty as the executive director of its Center for Children, Families and the Law and senior dean for operations. She has more than two decades of experience on the bench.
