The state Assembly Banking Committee will hold a public hearing Dec. 19 about the Cuomo administration’s plan to mandate that banks and insurance companies doing business in New York have protections in place against cyberattacks.
The committee said its hearing will focus on the Department of Financial Services’ proposed electronic security requirements, and if they would adequately protect consumers’ confidential information from internet breaches. The hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in Hearing Room C of the Legislative Office Building in Albany.
