Criminal court summonses from Manhattan and Brooklyn and code violation summonses from all five boroughs will now be heard in a new 40,000-square foot court facility in lower Manhattan, established as part of a broader effort to expedite cases in the high-volume Summons Court.
New York City picked up the $20 million construction tab for the new space, on the 16th floor of the David N. Dinkins Municipal Building at One Centre St. It’s expected to accommodate between 250 and 400 visitors daily.
