More than 140 attorneys from the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, including partners from major corporate firms, are opposing Sen. Jeff Sessions’ confirmation as U.S. attorney general, arguing he has not demonstrated a commitment to civil rights.

“On a range of civil rights matters, Senator Sessions has consistently and often stood opposed,” said the letter, signed by co-chairs James Joseph, a partner at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, and John Nonna, a Squire Patton Boggs partner.
