Long after large crowds protesting President Donald Trump’s executive order banning international travel from seven predominantly Muslim countries cleared out from John F. Kennedy International Airport, hundreds of sleep-deprived attorneys from various practice areas remained on Sunday to help those affected.

At Terminal 4 on Sunday afternoon, at least three detained travelers emerged from detention to anxious relatives, applauding onlookers and attorneys, wearing name tags with the word “lawyer” written in English, Arabic and Farsi, ready to offer advice.
