An attorney and long-time fixture in Nassau County politics has been charged by federal prosecutors with tax evasion spanning 15 years.
Gerard Terry, who chaired the North Hempstead Democratic Party and sat on the Nassau County Board of Elections, allegedly failed to pay over $1.4 million federal taxes he owed while working for six different entities or government agencies.
