A Brooklyn jury has awarded $5 million to the mother of a premature baby who developed autism in a medical malpractice case against her OB-GYN.
The jury found in favor of Yekaterina Gavrisheva and her now 9-year-old son, John Terehoff, in their lawsuit against Dr. Rubin Frenkel. Gavrisheva claimed Frenkel’s failure to diagnose and prevent her pre-term labor led to her son’s autism.
