Romano appeals (1) from an order of the Supreme Court, Suffolk County (Spinner, J.), dated May 13, 2014, and (2), as limited by his brief, from so much of an order of the same court, also dated May 13, 2014, as granted those branches of the plaintiff's motion which were for summary judgment on the complaint insofar as asserted against him, to strike his answer, and to appoint a referee to compute the amount due and owing under the mortgage.
