The assumption of risk inherent in the relatively modern game of disc golf is the same as for the traditional game, a state judge ruled in throwing out the claim of an injured player.
State Court of Claims Judge J. David Sampson in Buffalo decided that the basic liability rules that have developed for golfers over generations apply to the injury that David Kudela suffered in 2010, while playing disc golf at a course in the Beaver Island State Park (BISP) near Niagara Falls.
