• The Association of Pro Bono Counsel announced that it has elected its 2017 officers and board members. Kevin Curnin, partner and director of the Public Service Project at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan was elected president. Allegra Nethery, pro bono & philanthropy partner at Seyfarth Shaw was named as president-elect. Brenna DeVaney, pro bono counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom was elected vice president, and Dorothy Fernandez, pro bono counsel at Morrison & Foerster was elected secretary.

• Jean Gerbini, of counsel with Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, was honored with the John E. Leach Memorial Award presented by the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section (TICL) of the New York State Bar Association which recognizes outstanding service and distinguished contributions to the legal profession as a member of the TICL Section.
