A man who claimed credit for exposing the CityTime automated payroll and timekeeping scandal has been denied a cut of a $500 million settlement between New York City and a contractor on the project.

Vinod Khurana claimed he was fired for blowing the whistle on his employer Spherion, a quality assurance company. Spherion was hired to check the work of contractor Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) on CityTime, a system for tracking the work of municipal employees.
