The commission said Daniel Sullivan, a Whitestown Town Court justice since 2012, improperly tried to use his office’s prestige by interceding on behalf of the son of an acquaintance who had a traffic matter pending in Oxford Town Court, Chenango County.

Sullivan signed his name and used his judicial title in a letter that the defendant sent to the Oxford justice seeking to change his guilty plea to not guilty in a speeding case, the commission said.
