A judge, saying defense attorneys neglected discovery in a slip-and-fall case for 18 months, has ordered the parties to proceed to trial in May.

Dutchess County Supreme Court Justice Victor Grossman rejected the effort by one of the defendant’s counsel to vacate the plaintiff’s note of issue and certificate of readiness for trial. The motion was joined by the other defendants and not opposed by the plaintiff.
