ESTATE OF CHENG RON TAN, Deceased (09/0250/A) — In this contempt proceeding brought by the executor of the the estate of Cheng Ron Tan, which has now been discontinued, a guardian ad litem was appointed to determine whether the respondent was under a disability. The guardian ad litem requested compensation for legal services she provided. The petitioner argued that any compensation awarded to the guardian ad litem should be paid by the respondent rather than borne by the estate.

ESTATE OF CHENG RON TAN, Deceased (09/0250/A) — In this contempt proceeding brought by the executor of the the estate of Cheng Ron Tan, which has now been discontinued, a guardian ad litem was appointed to determine whether the respondent was under a disability. The guardian ad litem requested compensation for legal services she provided. The petitioner argued that any compensation awarded to the guardian ad litem should be paid by the respondent rather than borne by the estate.

The court awards compensation to the guardian ad litem to be paid, in the first instance, from the estate, without prejudice to a determination, on a final accounting, that the award should be borne by the respondent.
