ESTATE OF WILLIAM LOPEZ, Deceased (14/2176/C) — The co-administrators, the decedent’s spouse and daughter, his only distributees, seek to remove the restrictions on their limited letters of administration in order to receive and distribute the settlement proceeds of a wrongful conviction cause of action.

The cause of action stemmed from the decedent’s wrongful incarceration and the decedent died intestate on September 20, 2014, of unrelated causes. The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance consents to the application. A similar application was approved previously concerning a different defendant.
