ESTATE OF JULIO C. R., Jr., (13/1785/A) — This is a proceeding pursuant to Article 17-A of the Surrogate’s Court Procedure Act seeking to modify the decree dated January 28, 2014 to appoint the petitioner, the respondent’s niece, as successor guardian of the person of the respondent who was previously determined to be an intellectually disabled person, to continue the standby guardian appointment of one sister, and appoint another sister of the decedent to serve as first alternate standby guardian.

By decision dated the same date as the decree, the court adjudicated the respondent to be an intellectually disabled person, appointed his mother, Alejandrina D. N. a/k/a Alejandrina C., as guardian and appointed a sister, Alexandra C., as standby guardian. As the respondent’s mother is now deceased, the petition seeks to appoint the petitioning niece as successor guardian, continue the standby guardianship of Alexandra C., and add another sister, Juliet R., as first alternate standby guardian.
