GUARDIANSHIP OF RAYMOND B.S. PURSUANT TO SCPA ARTICLE 17-A (82/A/142G) — In this application, the petitioner, the respondent's cousin, seeks to be appointed as the successor guardian of the person of the respondent. By decree entered June 30, 1982, the respondent's parents, Carmela M.S. and Raymond J.S., were appointed guardians of the person of the respondent, Phyllis B. was appointed standby guardian, and the Angela E.B., petitioner herein, was appointed alternate standby guardian. Both guardians and the standby guardian are now deceased.

GUARDIANSHIP OF RAYMOND B.S. PURSUANT TO SCPA ARTICLE 17-A (82/A/142G) — In this application, the petitioner, the respondent’s cousin, seeks to be appointed as the successor guardian of the person of the respondent. By decree entered June 30, 1982, the respondent’s parents, Carmela M.S. and Raymond J.S., were appointed guardians of the person of the respondent, Phyllis B. was appointed standby guardian, and the Angela E.B., petitioner herein, was appointed alternate standby guardian. Both guardians and the standby guardian are now deceased.

As it appears to be in the best interests of the respondent that the petitioner be appointed successor guardian of his person, the application is granted. Letters of successor letters of guardianship of the person of the respondent shall issue to Angela B., and the letters of guardianship that issued to the respondent’s parents shall be revoked in the decree to be entered hereon. Another cousin, Donna S., is appointed standby guardian to serve when the primary guardian is no longer able to do so. A third cousin, Marilyn D., is appointed first alternate standby guardian to serve when neither the primary guardian nor the standby guardian is able to do so. The successor guardians shall assume the duties of their office subject to qualification and confirmation pursuant to SCPA 1757.
