Opinion & Order In September 2010, Desmond Campbell pleaded guilty to conspiring to import more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana. He subsequently fled to Jamaica just days before his sentencing was scheduled to take place. Over six years later, he was arrested and transported back to the United States. On July 27, 2017, after I denied Campbell’s motion to withdraw his plea upon his return to the country, I sentenced him to 128 months in prison to be followed by a five-year period of supervised release. Campbell now moves pro se to vacate his conviction pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §2255.
